Orillia Public Library Board

Mandate and Purpose

The Orillia Public Library Board is mandated by the Public Libraries Act.

The Board oversees the operation of the Orillia Public Library, which serves the City of Orillia and local area. The Board ensures that the library satisfies the needs of traditional users with book and various media collections, provides access to the World Wide Web (Internet) and electronic databases, and enables clients to access library services from their home computers.

The Board consists of 11 members: seven citizens at large, one representative from Oro-Medonte Township, one representative from Severn Township and two members of Council.
